April 8 12:30pm –3:00pm
9699 Fairfax Blvd.
We will be forming teams and bowling in a league like setting. Bowlers may form their own teams of 4 or request to be assigned to a team. Team scores, individual scores, and team standings will be calculated after each week of bowling. Training will be held every Sunday starting April 8th (with the exception of May 27th). Athletes must have a valid medical on file to participate.
Bowlers must report at the scheduled time. Any bowler not present when the training begins will be given a zero for every frame missed. Once 5 frames are missed, the bowler will have to wait until the next game to begin bowling. Special Olympics pays by the athlete, not the number of games bowled so we would appreciate all athletes being ready to bowl at the beginning of the first game and staying to bowl all three games, whenever possible.
If your bowler must miss a week of training, please contact Barb De Lisa at the email below so that the computers can be updated prior to the start of bowling.
Foul lights will be used and bowlers will be scored accordingly.
Bowlers will alternate lanes after each frame and will rotate lanes over the entire training period.
Bowlers must have any drinks/snacks purchased and finished by the time practice begins. No one should be holding up the bowling to purchase anything from the Snack Bar.
Arrangements should be made to pick up your athlete by 3:00 p.m. every week. Do not schedule rides for pick up for later than 3:30 p.m. or earlier than 3:00 p.m.
Guests watching and/or encouraging bowlers must remain out of the settee area during bowling.
Bowlers should be aware and ready to bowl when it is their turn and practice good bowling etiquette.
Please forward your intent to bowl or not to bowl to Barb De Lisa at email@example.com no later than March 10th (negative replies are requested so that we can account for all our athletes). Please include the athlete’s name, guardian/POC name, address, birthday, home phone number, cell phone number, and email address together with the team name and team members (if one exists). If your athlete is not currently on a team, he/she will be assigned to an existing team.
Volunteers can sign up to assist with lane set up,score-keeping and assist athletes with lane resets when needed.
