Speed Skating

Speed Skating is a sport for athletes of all ages and abilities. It is a popular form of competition that showcases strength and coordination. Speed Skating provides both cardiovascular and aerobic benefits as well as improving muscle strength, balance, and coordination. Today, the sport can be enjoyed year round with indoor skating facilities found throughout the world.

We offer events for lower ability level athletes to train and compete in basic speed skating skills. The development of these key skills is necessary prior to advancing to longer, competitive events.

Find a Special Olympics Area program near you to participate. Contact your Region Director if you're interested in starting this sport in your Area.
