Richmond Corporate Games Rides the Wave of Success

Innsbrook Foundations’ 32nd annual Richmond Corporate Games, presented by Dominion Energy, was held Sept. 22-23 in Glen Allen to benefit Special Olympics Virginia. Ten local corporations competed in a variety of outrageous events which included a canoe race, volleyball tournament, obstacle course, zany relay, human foolsball, tug-of-war and more!

This year’s Games were beach-themed, all accompanied with island tunes, Hawaiian leis and spectacular weather! Dominion Energy took home the first place trophy for the A-League and SingleStone took first in the B-League. Both teams were first-time, first place winners!

Volunteers for the Corporate Games were organized by HandsOn Greater Richmond as part of their “Give a Day RVA” event, where more than 1,100 volunteers from the Richmond area took part in a variety of service activities at 55 different nonprofit partner sites.

In addition to competition on the field, the teams put forth their best fundraising efforts off the field in hopes of being named Top Fundraising Team and receiving the coveted Golden Pig Trophy. For the 4th year in a row Markel Corporation earned these accolades, raising more than $9,000! Participating corporate teams collectively raised more than $13,700 through various fundraising efforts for Special Olympics Virginia.

A special shout-out goes to the Innsbrook Foundation Events Team, all of our tenacious Corporate Team Captains and Markel – for consistently going above and beyond on the fundraising front!
