More than 1.2 million people of all abilities worldwide--including 14,000+ in Virginia--take part in Special Olympics Unified Sports, breaking down stereotypes about people with intellectual disabilities in a really fun way.

Special Olympics and its rapidly expanding Unified Sports® program were recently named among the top disability charity brands that consumers can identify, according to results of the latest Harris Poll EquiTrend Brands of the Year ratings. The annual study measures brand equity and health among the nation’s most popular companies and nonprofits. 

The rankings are based on three simple questions: How well an individual knows the entity; What they think of it; and, whether they want to interact with it.
