Athletes who compete in equestrian events learn to ride, develop sports skills and gain the self confidence to direct and control a horse. The balance, the stability and the right communication between the horse and the rider is a key element for success in equestrian sport.

Athletes compete in a variety of English and Western style events, including relays, drill teams and prix caprilli (jumping events).

Find a Special Olympics Area program near you to participate. Contact your Region Director if you're interested in starting this sport in your Area.
