2023 Kicks Off with the Xperience Tennis Tournament in Charlottesville

The best Special Olympics tennis players in the country will return for the annual tennis invitational

For the 15th year, Special Olympics athletes from all over the country will pack into Boars Head Resort in Charlottesville for the Xperience Tennis Invitational from January 8th-10th.

This year's invitational will feature 30 athletes competing from 17 states, including California. The competition will span over 3 days with the medal round taking place on Tuesday. Among the athletes that are competing are 4 from Virginia, Jay Choi, Michael Lozos, Don Pericle, and Chris Raupp. Chris Raupp and Michael Lozos are coming off competing at the 2022 USA Games in Orlando, Florida.

This year’s event is presented and supported by Boar’s Head Sports Club with additional support from the BAMA Works Fund of the Dave Matthews Band in the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, Terri Denton & the Denton Family Charitable Foundation, The Fried Family, NBC29, The Jonathan Fried Pro Challenger Tournament and many generous Charlottesville area supporters.
