What a year it's been - Here are my 8 favorite Special Olympics highlights of 2024!

Virginia Beach Polar Plunge

Another great highlight this year was the good old Virginia Beach Polar Plunge! Thanks to a huge amount of support, we raised $1.62 million this year through this event alone. In typical fashion, the Polar Plunge brought people with and without disabilities together for a magical, enjoyable, and fun experience. This is yet another standout moment for 2024!

Meet Dylan Jacquez

One of our extraordinary athletes and advocates is Dylan Jacquez. Dylan, from Area 11, has competed in basketball, soccer, and track but has a fiery passion for golf. For Dylan, golf is not just about winning—it’s about joy, connection, and personal growth. He ensures that no challenge holds him back.

Basketball Championships

Similar to the Fall Championships, the 2024 Basketball Championships were held at the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Richmond, VA. The event kicked off with an exciting opening ceremony, followed by half-court and full-court basketball games. Thanks to sponsors like GEICO, ABLEnow, and Texas Roadhouse, this phenomenal highlight of 2024 was made possible. Thank you, sponsors!
