Annandale High School has achieved a remarkable milestone in its dedication to inclusion and athletics, earning the National Banner recognition from Special Olympics North America. This honor is awarded to schools that demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Unified Sports®, Inclusive Youth Leadership, and Whole-School Engagement—the key pillars of the Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® program.

We are such a diverse community with so many varying backgrounds that it's really important to us at Annandale and within Special Olympics that everyone feels included, heard, and supported.
Sage Nagle, AHS Special Olympics President

To celebrate this achievement, Annandale hosted a Unified basketball exhibition against George C. Marshall High School, highlighting the power of sports to foster friendships, teamwork, and inclusivity. More than just a game, the event embodied the spirit of unity that defines Unified Champion Schools®.
