LESSON OVERVIEW
Opening Sports Song (5 min) – Get ready to move! Sing along and do the motions that accompany the song.
Rolling and Trapping (5 min) – Sit on the floor in pairs facing one another with your legs outstretched in a straddle position so that your legs are touching in the shape of a diamond. Roll the ball back and forth. Advance to rolling the ball on the floor in a kneeling or standing position.
Goalie Drill (5 min) – The athlete stands in-between two cones forming a goal. Roll or kick the ball towards the athlete who stops the ball with their hands or feet.
Big Ball (5 min) – Learn how to catch a ball in the air. Hold the ball over the athlete's head and slowly lower it for the athlete to "catch."
Bean Bag Catch (5 min) – Adapt the Big Ball Activity using a bean bag instead of ball to practice catching skills.
Closing Sports Song (5 min) – You did it! Sing along and do the motions that accompany the song.
