Welcome to the 2025 Special Olympics Virginia Basketball Championships!
We’re excited that this year’s Championships are returning to the Henrico Sports and Events Center on February 22nd and 23rd. This state-of-the-art facility provides the perfect space for our largest event of the year, bringing together all of our incredible athletes under one roof.
This year’s event will feature:
- 900+ athletes competing across multiple divisions
- 150+ coaches guiding their teams with expertise and heart
- 200+ volunteers helping to create an unforgettable experience
About Special Olympics Virginia
Special Olympics Virginia is dedicated to creating a world where every individual is accepted, included, and celebrated. Through the power of sports, we provide year-round opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to develop skills, build confidence, and connect with their communities. The Basketball Championships are one of the many ways we showcase the abilities and determination of our athletes.

The Opening Ceremony will kick off the Championships on Saturday night, celebrating the athletes and the incredible community that supports them. Expect inspiring speeches, lively music, and the iconic lighting of the torch to officially start the games.
