Check out the different volunteer roles we offer:

Barker

Runner volunteers will drop off their heat of athletes to this position at the fieldhouse! The barker will then announce each athlete event and heat number to the stagers to be seated.

Registration

This is the first stop for all athletes! Volunteers here will check-in athletes for their races ensuring they are present at the correct time for the correct event. Once the steps detailed in the training are completed, you will then hand the athlete off to a runner.

Runner

After being handed an athlete/heat of athletes from the registration table, take them down the stadium stairs to the barker at the door of the field house. Then, go back up the stairs to receive the next heat to escort down. Please note: this role entails continuous trips up and down the stadium stairs.

Field Staging

Stagers from the field house will bring athletes to the field staging area. Field Stagers will then ensure everyone is checked in and accounted for in each heat, ensure that athletes/groups are flowing and advancing through their staging rows as they approach the time for their heat to compete, in addition to coordinating with the field escorts to ensure athletes are accompanied through the completion of competition.

Track Staging

Track Stagers will then ensure everyone is checked in and accounted for in each heat, ensure that athletes/groups are flowing and advancing through their staging rows as they approach the time for their heat to compete, in addition to coordinating with the awards escorts to ensure athletes are accompanied through the completion of competition.

Awards

Awards Escorts will bring completed heats of athletes over to the awards area. Awards volunteers will then work together in this area to set up awards stands, stage athletes in the seats, hand out water as they wait, review results with competition director, present medals to athletes, play Olympic theme music and announce awards.

Pentathlon

Stay with the pentathlete through all events, ensure they are staying hydrate and having fun, and escort them to awards at the end of the day.
