A Vision For Fitness

Never Quit: The Story of Kevin Ogar

Up & Coming Athlete Adjusts To Life As A Paraplegic | (Full Documentary)

If you are looking for inspiration about sports and fitness, Kevin Ogar is your man.

Ogar is the subject of a CrossFit documentary that details his journey from a life-altering sports injury that left him in a wheelchair. This documentary came out in 2017 and, as a film enthusiast, I wanted to tell you about his story! This major injury did NOT stop Kevin from being a CrossFit trainer! It is an inspirational film that should inspire Special Olympics athletes to never give up!

The video goes into great detail about how Ogar has been able to survive and thrive in life, even after losing his ability to move his legs. He has become an inspiring advocate, athlete and coach. It helps that he was determined to stay athletic and achieve these goals by refusing to let any obstacles and challenges he faced hold him back. It also helps that his family, friends and others helped him throughout his journey. Many of them assisted him when he was hospitalized by allowing his family to raise enough money for insurance to pay for his hospital care.

Ogar eventually became a Level 1 Certified CrossFit Coach and staff member. This took Kevin a lot of time to earn but he worked hard to improve with feedback and finally earn this status. It was a wonder that he got to be a part of it despite his disability – no one had done that before.

He currently coaches people of all abilities at CrossFit gyms throughout the world. CrossFit has 1,400 gyms in 146 countries. I encourage you to watch the documentary to the end, you will learn more about Ogar’s achievements in life and how he achieved what he did. Examples of these include: opening his very own CrossFit facility in Denver in 2015, called CrossFit WatchTower; working with fellow athletes who underwent rehabilitation at Colorado’s Craig Hospital; and launching The Reveille Project, also back in 2015, which has helped almost 20 wounded veterans through the program.

I hope, like me, you are inspired by Kevin's story,
