One of my favorite go-to ways to exercise is bike riding.
Bike riding allows me to whip my feet and legs into shape. I sometimes struggle continuing a bike ride, as sometimes I want to stop. However, I always encourage myself to power through until I get back home. Bike riding can be relaxing, as it keeps my mind at ease by allowing me to admire the world around me while doing something productive outdoors. Not to mention, I get decent exercise!
When I return from every bike ride, I’m out of breath and very sweaty. I quench my thirst and re-hydrate by drinking cold water.
When I first started this sport when I was five years old, I rode with my parents. Now that I’m older, I can bike ride by myself and explore. I enjoy taking a ride around the neighborhood and seeing trees, houses, dogs, and different people’s mailboxes.
Mailboxes intrigue me, because I enjoy looking at how colorful and creative certain mailboxes can be. It also serves as a friendly reminder of all the wonderful people who live in my neighborhood. I appreciate encountering familiar faces. There’s my childhood babysitter, my elementary school teacher, my high school teacher, and the always friendly Smith family. I hope you can also think about the people and friends you enjoy meeting along the way when you take bike rides.

When I ride, I always wear a helmet, as that is necessary to stay safe. I don't listen to music because I want to make sure I’m staying focused and paying attention to what’s around me, in front of me, and even behind me. I like to switch up the speed of my bike, but that depends on if there are any cars or people on the road. I have never been injured riding my bike around the neighborhood because I am so used to it and make sure to always stay safe!
Although I bike ride by myself now, I would certainly be open to ride with any famous bike riders if they would be interested. A famous bicyclist I would love to go bike riding with is Greg LeMond. He became the first American male to ever win “World Champion.” He was also the first cyclist to be featured on Sports Illustrated and was titled “Sportsman of the Year” in 1989. Who would you love to bike ride with if you could ride with a celebrity?
It is good to have a trusty bike with you when you're bike riding. My bike fits my current weight and height, and yours should, too! One thing I appreciate about my bike is how it is blue, which is one of my favorite colors. I also appreciate that my bike has a kickstand so I can properly "park it" when a situation calls for it.
Bike riding is beneficial because it helps you lose weight, give your legs more strength, boost your mental health, lower your cholesterol, and more! I love riding and I hope you can enjoy it, too!
